Baptism

We are delighted that you are seeking Baptism for your child! The Church desires to walk with your family through this joyful moment.

Baptism makes one a member of the Body of Christ and incorporates the person into the life and mission of the Church. Through Baptism, we are purified from sin and reborn in the Holy Spirit. The Catholic Church baptizes people of all ages. For infants, the Church requires formation and catechesis for parents in preparation for the Baptism of their child; only one class is required. Adolescents and adults are prepared for Baptism through a process called the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA).

Below you’ll find the steps for Baptism at St. Benedict Parish, along with the documents needed at each stage.
